(If you are going to drink, don’t drive)…The CHP will be watching.

The New Year’s Holiday is one of the biggest Drinking Holidays. It is traditionally celebrated with the consumption of alcohol. That can and often does, translate into tragedy on the roadways. The California Highway Patrol does what they can to eliminate tragic incidents that result from drunk driving. They will be going into their Maximum Enforcement Program at 6:00 New Year’s Eve. The MEP is the Highway Patrol’s Holiday Enforcement Program. They bring in as many officers as possible to patrol the roadways in California. The officers will be looking for alcohol or otherwise impaired drivers, as well as assist motorists in need. It is strongly suggested that those who plan to drink over the holiday designate a non-drinking driver before they start.
