(Commission brought back)…It is the Commission of the Californias.

It was originally established by Governor Jerry Brown during his first term. It was eliminated by Governor Ronald Reagan during his term. Current California Governor Gavin Newsom joined his counterparts, Governor Jaime Bonilla Valdez of Baja California Norte and Governor Carlos Mendoza Davis of Baja California Sur to sign a memorandum of understanding, re-establishing the Commission of the Californias. The MOU was signed Wednesday in San Diego and it creates a forum to share information around common issues and discuss the development of common solutions.
