(Border Patrol agents busy rescuing people)….San Diego Sector Border Patrol agents said they were all in one 24 hour period.

Officials say the rescues were over the Thanksgiving Day Holiday. They made 22 separate rescues in the East San Diego County mountain area. The series of rescues began Friday after a woman called the San Diego Sheriff’s Department to report she and her daughter were lost after entering the US illegally. The Sheriff’s office contacted the Border Patrol agents. A BORSTAR Team, Border Patrol agents, Sheriff Deputies and a helicopter joined the search. They discovered the in the mountainous area Southeast of Otay Lake Reservoir. The mother was found incoherent and losing consciousness. Because of the terrain, the helicopter was used to transport the woman out of the area to a waiting ambulance. The 16 year old daughter and her mother were both transported to a hospital for treatment.
