(Long awaited Aquatic Center)…It is now open.
The Grand Opening was held Saturday. The $16 million El Centro Aquatic Center replaces the Plunge that was damaged in the 7.2 earthquake in 2010. The parking lot was jammed with vehicles. All coming out for the grand opening of the long awaited Center. Officials say the center will be open year round, weather permitting. El Centro Mayor Edgard Garcia delivered his State of the City Address following the ribbon cutting, officially opening the Aquatic Center. Garcia’s speech highlighted recreational upgrades in the city as well as street and road repairs over the past year.
