(Strike Team continues to wait)…At last report, the team was still in Riverside County.

Wednesday the County was asked to send a strike team to the staging area, to await deployment. Imperial County Fire, El Centro, Holtville and Yuma Departments all sent an engine to Noble Creek Park in Riverside County, the Staging Ops for Southern California. They were to await deployment to one of the fires near Los Angeles or in Northern California. Friday morning Imperial County Fire Chief Estrada said the team was still waiting. The Chief said he is confident the team will be deployed, but he has no idea when or where they will be going. A Strike Team deployment can last up to two weeks, before crews are rotated or sent home.
