(Jury participation)….It is a focus of the Imperial County Superior Court.
They are trying to increase jury response rates. They are notifying the public that receives a jury notice or summons, they must respond. They can either show up as scheduled or file the proper papers to be legally excused. They say two attempts will be made to get a response. After that, a non compliant person can be charged with contempt of court, that could result in a fine of up to $750 or jail time. For more information contact the Jury Commissioners office.
