(Vehicle versus pedestrian)…It was reported late Thursday morning.

El Centro Police responded to the scene at Danenberg and Railroad. When they arrived, they found the pedestrian had left the scene. Witnesses told police the pedestrian, later identified as 28 year old Emily Valdez, had been walking eastbound in the middle of the roadway just west of the railroad tracks prior to the collision. Valdez reportedly got up after being struck by the vehicle and walked away. Police contacted Valdez, who became uncooperative with officers and tried to leave. Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported Valdez to the hospital for treatment of injuries to the back of the head, leg and foot. None of the injuries were considered life threatening. The driver of the vehicle was not identified. Police say the driver did not sustain any injuries.
