A school bus carrying Yuma High School volleyball players was involved in an accident Thursday evening in El Centro.
El Centro Police reported that the accident occurred at Imperial and Elm at about 9:40 p.m. Initial reports indicate that the school bus collided with two vehicles that were waiting for the red light at Hamilton Avenue. ECPD says that numerous injuries were reported including 10 student athletes who were transported to local hospitals. The California Highway has taken over the investigation as is protocol with accidents involving school buses with passengers.
