A Holtville High School van carrying the schools volleyball team was involved in an accident Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol , the van collided with a sedan at State Route 111 and Worthington Road at about 5:25 p.m. Saturday. The Imperial County Fire Department and Office of Emergency Services responded to the accident scene and reported that two patients were transported by air and two others by ground for treatment. The team was returning from a tournament in San Diego. Initial reports indicated one of the vehicles ended up on it's side and several passengers were trapped in the vehicle for a time. No other details have been released yet.
