(Border Patrol agent resigns)…It was part of a plea agreement.

AJason Andrew McGilvray was in Federal Court recently to enter a plea. The Border Patrol agent at the Calexico station was charged with deprivation of rights under the color of law, a misdemeanor. He was arrested for an incident that occurred last February. McGalvray had detained an illegal migrant who had entered the United States illegally near Gordons Well. Court documents say McGalvray struck the individual in the face while in custody to deprive the man of his constitutional right against unreasonable force during search and seizure. McGalvray agreed to a deal in which he would enter a guilty plea in exchange for a sentence of one year of unsupervised probation and a promise to resign his position with the Border Patrol and never seek future employment with any Federal Law Enforcement Department
