(Law Enforcement out in force)….They are keeping an extra vigilant eye out for drunk drivers.
They will remain out in force throughout the four day holiday weekend. The California Highway Patrol went into their Maximum Enforcement mode at 6:00 Wednesday evening. The will remain in that mode until mid-night Monday morning. Maximum Enforcement is when as many officers available are assigned to patrol the roadways, looking for drunk drivers, seatbelt and other violations. The four day 4th of July weekend attracts an abundance of visitors to the dune areas of Imperial Valley. The CHP is responsible for traffic violations in the dunes, as well as the roadways.
