U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered more than 190 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a charter bus.

The incident occurred over the weekend at the Calexico East port of entry when Dino Viaggio bus applied for entry into the United States. The bus was referred for further inspection where the ports imaging system detected anomalies in the vehicles fuel tank. A CBP canine team also screened the bus and the detector dog alerted to the undercarriage. Officers were able to locate 45 packages of methamphetamine hidden in the diesel fuel tank. The meth weighed 190 pounds and has a street value of over $300,000. The driver , a resident of Ensenada , Baja California , was arrested and the bus and narcotics were seized.
