(Two killed in Glider crash)…The incident occurred Saturday afternoon at Jacumba Airport.
Officials say the Glider had just been released from the towline. It was about 100 feet off the ground when, for unknown reasons, it went out of control and crashed. The San Diego County Medical Examiner identified the occupants of the Glider as 54-year-old Martin Gary Rothwell of San Diego and 63-year-old Richard Riley Noble of La Jolla. The air stripe is a popular spot for sailplanes, and is used by members of the Associated Glider Clubs of Southern California.
