A 39-year old woman was arrested Friday morning when nearly $100,000 worth of methamphetamine was found hidden in her car.
The woman , a U.S. citizen , was westbound on Interstate 8 when agents at the checkpoint near Campo sent her car to secondary inspection . A Border Patrol canine team alerted to the small car and a search turned up 31 packages hidden in the gas tank. The packages contained nearly 42 pounds of methamphetamine. The woman was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
