El Centro Fire Department units responded to a fire in the attic of a house Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported at 3:10 p.m. with information about a fire in a house in the 400 block of East Orange Avenue. Arriving fire personnel initially found no smoke or fire showing but looked further and found a fire in the attic of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished. There were no injuries reported but three adults and two pets were displaced by the fire. They were assisted by the local Red Cross. Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
