The Nation's birthday less than a week away

(23rd Annual Freedom Fest)….It is less than a week away.

The annual 4th of July celebration features the largest fireworks display synchronized to music in Southern California. The event is presented by FM 107.5 on behalf of the Imperial Chamber of Commerce. Alexis Brown, Imperial Chamber Director of Marketing and Events and committee member of Freedom Fest 2013, says it takes approximately 330 volunteers each year to put on this event. Brown said the business community also provides tremendous financial support. Major sponsors of Freedom Fest include Sun Community Federal Credit Union, Imperial Printers/Rocket Copy, Spreckles Sugar, Viejas Casino, Valley Plaza Center, Valley Plaza Center and FM 107.5. Concessions and static displays will open at 6:00 pm Thursday and the free fireworks show starts at 9:30 Thursday night. Alcoholic beverages, personal fireworks of any kind including sparklers, personal BBQ’s and dogs, except working dogs, are not allowed on Imperial Valley College Campus.
