(Meth Found in fuel tank)…It happened Sunday.

A 45 year old man drove a pickup up to the Highway 86 immigration checkpoint. A Border Patrol canine detection team alerted to the vehicle, and it was referred to the secondary inspection area. Agents searched the vehicle and discovered 20 cellophane wrapped bundles concealed in a compartment inside the fuel tank. It was determined the bundles contained over 50 pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of almost $117,000. The driver, the vehicle and the narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
