Beginning Wednesday morning there will be another traffic shift on Interstate 8.

A 1.5 mile section of I-8 east of the East Highline Canal Bridge will one lane in each direction as construction crews continue the Interstate 8 Improvement Project. The shift will be on the westbound side of the freeway from approximately one-half mile east of the East Highline Bridge to just west of the State Route 98 junction. Starting at about 10:00 a.m.  Wednesday westbound traffic will be shifted from the old Evan Hewes Highway detour onto the westbound side of the freeway. Starting at 8:00 a.m. Friday the eastbound traffic will be shifted onto the westbound freeway lanes as well. The new configuration will allow for embankment and grade adjustments from just east of State Route 115 / Vanderlinden Road.
