(Imagine Charter petition turned down)….Last year, Imagine lost their charter in El Centro.
This year, they changed their name to Imagine Schools Imperial County, and filed a petition with the Imperial County Office of Education. Last week the ICOE Board heard the petition, and suggested several stipulations before granting the petition. Monday, Imagine School officials returned to the Board with a counter proposal. Some of the Board members said the counter proposal was not very much different than the first, and did not address the stipulations presented by the Board. A subsequent vote was taken, and the petition was turned down. The vote was 3-2, against.
