The National Weather Service ( NWS ) says there's a chance of showers in the Imperial , Mexicali and Yuma Valleys.

In a Weather Briefing issued late Friday afternoon the NWS said that showers and thunderstorms with gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall could start as early as Friday night and continue through Sunday evening. The forecast for the Imperial Valley calls for increasing clouds Friday night with a 20% chance of showers after 11:00 p.m. Saturday the chance of showers and thunderstorms increases to 40% and then the weather system will move further eastward Sunday. Temperatures on Saturday are expected to reach a high of around 83 with Sunday's high at about 88 degrees.
