El Centro Police are investigating an apparent drive by shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon.
Imperial Valley law enforcement agencies are looking for a 2016 or newer Nissan Altima that may be dark gray in color. According to El Centro police the car was seen in the area of Imperial Avenue and Commercial Street when a shooting occurred. One occupant of the car is described as a heavy-set Hispanic male. No one was injured in the shooting but a vehicle was damaged by gunfire. Nearby Lincoln Elementary School was on lockdown for a time after the shooting. El Centro Police say that at this time the incident is being investigated as a drive by shooting / attempted homicide.
