Motorists in Calexico can expect some delays as Caltrans continues work on State Route 98.
Beginning Monday there will be lane reductions on SR-98 between Meloland Road and Rivera Avenue in Calexico. The roadwork will begin after midnight Monday morning and continue till 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastbound 98 will be reduced to one lane until crews move to the westbound lanes. Crews will close intersections along SR-98 at C.N. Perry , Avenida de Oro , and rancho Frontera avenue for one day on Monday , April 22. Intersections at SR-98 and C.N. Perry , Heber Avenue , Blair Avenue and Encinas avenue will be closed on Tuesday , April 22.
The work is part of a $20 million project paid for through SB-1 , the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.
