(The 79th Annual Tomato Festival)...It is this Saturday.
This years Festival is being sponsored by American Legion, Niland Corregidor Post 597. The Tomato Festival will be held at the Niland Chamber of Commerce on Highway 111, starting at 9:00 am and ending at around 9:00 pm. The event will include a parade, a pet parade, adobo challenge cook-off contest, Adobo plates, a Queen/Princess contest, and a Tomato Packing Contest. There will be an Elvis impersonator and much more. The Parade starts at 10:00 am Saturday. The Pet Parade will be at 11:30 am. The Coronation of Queen Cleopatra and Princess Sheherazade will be at around 3:00 pm, just before the Tomato Packing contest gets underway.
