Demolition has begun on the historic Rehkopf Building in downtown El Centro.
The building , constructed in 1912 , had been restored and housed Brooks Jewelry and Gifts for many years but was damaged beyond repair by an early morning fire on February 11, 2019. Since the closing of Brooks Jewelry it housed several other businesses.
