(National Weights and Measures week)…It was declared at  the National Conference on Weights and Measures.

It is this week. It is designated every year to commemorate President John Adams’s signing of the first United States weights and measures law on March 2nd, 1799. Weights and Measures week is a reminder that equality and accuracy in the marketplace exist largely through the efforts of inspectors working behind the scenes. Stop by the Weights and Measures office in El Centro, 852 Broadway, to see their display and talk to an inspector before 5:00 pm.
