The California Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that claimed the life of a Brawley man.

According to the CHP report , the accident occurred at about 2:45 p.m. Friday on Lindsey Road west of Hartfield Road. A pick up truck driven by 30-year old Robert Landeros of Brawley was westbound on Lindsey Road when he drifted off the roadway , overcorrected and caused the truck to overturn several times. Landeros was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the tumbling truck. He sustained major injuries to his head and torso. Landeros was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment but succumbed to his injuries the next day. According to the Highway Patrol , the accident remains under investigation and added that alcohol is a factor in the accident.
