The California Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that occurred Wednesday morning.
According to the CHP , the accident was reported at 8:27 a.m. on westbound Interstate 8 near Ocotillo. A vehicle apparently ran off the roadway and down a 40 foot embankment. Initial information indicates there was a fatality resulting from the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
