(Calexico City Council is now complete)…The final seat was filled Wednesday night.

During their meeting, the City Council voted unanimously to appoint Morris Reisin to fill the vacancy. That vacancy was created by the resignation of Jesus Escobar. He had resigned after being elected to the County Board of Supervisors. The remaining council decided to appoint a replacement, to avoid a costly special election. 13 applications were received for the position. Reisin will be seated on the City Council and serve out the term Escobar had been elected to. That term ends in November of next year.
