It may not be the Polar Vortex but you can expect some colder temperatures in the Imperial Valley.

According to the National Weather Service we will have night time temperatures dropping in to the low to mid-30's up to the weekend. Day time highs are expected to be in the low to mid-60's. This weather front should be mostly dry with very little chance of precipitation. Temperatures will return to near normal by Saturday.

Meanwhile , a Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the San Diego County mountains. Heavy snow , up to 8 inches at higher elevations , are expected from Tuesday through Wednesday. The snow level could drop as low as 3,500 feet and west winds are predicted at 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 mph. The Winter Storm Warning will be in effect until 4:00 a.m. Wednesday.
