The Imperial County Film Commission is hosting the event on Friday, February 22. The Red Carpet event will be the film commission’s inaugural annual dinner to include a fun and engaging program that will celebrate the contributions of filming in this area. Imperial County has a long and storied history with Hollywood, reaching back to the silent film era. That history continues today as productions utilize the vast vista, industry and unique beauty as the backdrop for their productions. The event will be held at the Ricochet Event Center in Imperial from 5:30 to 10:00 pm. Tickets are available at FilmImperialCounty.com/Tickets. In Fiscal year 2017-18 Imperial County saw the production of 2 independent films, 6 commercials, 10 documentaries, 20 music videos, 10 reality television shows, 2 television series, 21 still projects, 9 short films and 7 miscellaneous projects for a total estimated economic impact of over $2 million
