(Stargazing events)…They were held all over the United States Sunday evening.

They were not just gazing at the stars. Sunday night was a special astronomical night. Locally, the event was held at the Imperial Valley Desert Museum, hosted by Mike Rood. Sunday night was the closest the moon will be to the Earth in 68 years. Not only that, there was a total lunar eclipse. The next Total Lunar Eclipse will not happen again until 2021. The event was visible locally, though there was a thin cloud layer. Cloudy skies hampered the events in Los Angeles and San Diego.
