(Board of Supervisors approve a letter for the Governor)…The letter concerns hemp cultivation.

The federal government recently separated hemp from the cannabis classification. This allows hemp to be grown and sold for industrial uses. The letter approved by the County Supervisors encourages Governor Gavin Newsome to move quickly to allow the cultivation of industrial hemp and the sale of hemp derived products. The county feels the new crop would greatly benefit the Ag community and the local economy. The state is currently trying to decide how the reclassification can benefit local growers in California.
