Volunteers are being recruited to count and survey the local homeless population.
The Imperial County Continuum of Care Council is behind the effort called 2019 Point-In-Time Count. According to the council , volunteers must be; able to work in a 4 person team , physically able to walk if needed , required to sign a liability form , attend mandatory training and be 18 years of age. The count will take place in the county Friday , January 25 , 2019 from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and on Saturday , January 26 , 2019 at Slab City from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
