(Former Brawley Mayor and County Supervisors Dies)…Abe Seabolt was 83.

He passed away December 21st. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Seabolt, their 3 children and grandchildren. He was a resident of Brawley for 60 years, but was born in Muldrow, Oklahoma on September 28th, 1935. He was educated in Brawley Public Schools, graduating from Brawley Union High School in 1954. Seabolt played on the 1951 and 1952 CIF Championship teams, and served as Captain during his senior season, including the CIF Playoffs. A successful businessman, Seabolt was elected to the Brawley City Council, serving twice as Mayor. He moved on to the County Board of Supervisors, representing District 4, serving three terms. During his tenure on the Board of Supervisors he only missed two Board meetings. He retired to Julian, California. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 12th, 20198 at the Brawley First United Methodist Church. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be considered to the Masonic Lodge 402 in Brawley or to the Brawley First United Methodist Church, 133 K Street in Brawley.
