Two Imperial Valley high school football teams remain in action.
The Holtville Vikings and the Central Spartans advanced to the semi-finals of their respective divisions. The Vikings , the #4 seed in the Division 5 bracket will travel to Escondido to meet the #1 seeded Orange Glen Patriots. Orange Glen beat Maranatha Christian 48 - 7 to advance while the Vikings clipped the Mountain Empire Red Hawks 37 - 6 last Friday night.
The Central Spartans dominated the second half in Friday nights win over the Imperial Tigers to move on to the Division 3 semi-finals. The Spartans led 7 - 0 at the half and won the game 34 - 7. The Spartans , the #2 seed , will host Santa Fe Christian Friday night at Cal Jones Field. The Eagles topped #3 seed Monte Vista to move on. Last year Santa Fe Christian travelled to the Imperial Valley to meet the Southwest Eagles in the CIF-SDS Division 3 Finals and went home with a 35 - 28 loss to the Southwest team.
