Look for improvements to State Route 86.
According to Caltrans , work will continue on Highway 86 from I Street to Brandt Road near Brawley. Hazard Construction Company has been awarded a $5.3 million contract to repair and repave portions of the heavily travelled highway. Work began in July and will resume later this month. The $1.7 million contract for bridge improvement projects went to Truesdell Corporation. Work began in late October with crews revamping the structures be replacing bridge approaches and adding erosion control to increase safety and increase bridge life. A total of 22 bridges are included in the project.
The funds for both projects are generated by Senate Bill 1 , The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.
