(Burnt vehicle at the side of Interstate 8)…The California Highway Patrol says it was going to be towed Monday morning.
According to the CHP, the vehicle was headed westbound on the Interstate Sunday evening. At around 5:20 pm, west of In-Ko-Pah, the vehicle caught fire. The driver was able to steer the vehicle onto the right hand shoulder and exit the vehicle before it exploded. The explosion and intense fire burned the wheels off the vehicle. Plans to tow the vehicle off the Interstate fell through Sunday evening. The Highway Patrol says the vehicle owner notified them the vehicle would be towed sometime Monday morning. The cause of the fire and explosion has not been determined. No names were released.
