A two year old boy was in the car when his mother attempted to smuggle drugs into the United States.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Calexico downtown port of entry encountered an 18-year old woman and her 2-year old son attempting to enter the U.S. The vehicle was referred to secondary inspection where officers found 58 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in the fuel tank and the quarter panels. The driver , from Los Angeles , was booked into Imperial County Jail.  The meth has a street value of approximately $145,000.
