(Inmate walks away from work detail)….It happened Wednesday north of Brawley.
24-year-old Jacob Roman Mariscal was on a cleanup detail of inmates at the County Jail. They were working in an area north of Brawley on Highway 111. It is not known if Mariscal actually walked away or was assisted in making his escape. At last report, the inmate was still at large. He had been serving a probation violation on a two-year burglary conviction. Mariscal has brown eyes, black hair, weighs around 190 pounds. He is five feet 11 inches tall and is a resident of Brawley. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to call the county sheriff’s office.
