(Grant approved for the Cooperative Extension)….The two-year grant is for research and development.

The County Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved the $246,678.00 grant under the County Agricultural Benefit Program. The grant will go towards The University of California Cooperative Extension’s Establishment for the Viability of several alternative crops and water management practices for water conservation to the region of Imperial County. Officials said the research was crucial as the region faces uncertainty concerning water supplies and the importance of establishing water conservation practices.
