(Imagine School is no more)…It was a surprise move last week.
The school had petitioned the State Board of Education to overturn a decision by the El Centro Elementary School District. The decision was to not renew the Charter for the Imagine School. The County School Board upheld that decision. Imagine School officials, as a last resort, filed a petition with the state. The California Board of Education was to hold a hearing last week on the petition, but before the petition could be heard, Imagine Officials pulled it from the agenda. They would only say they were not confident the State School Board members would vote favorably. Without a charter, the Imagine School cannot operate, leaving several dozen students looking for a school to attend. It is not known if Imagine will seek to renew their charter for next school year.
