(Next week will be Responsible Fatherhood Week)…The Proclamation was adopted Tuesday morning.
In adopting the Proclamation, the Board of Supervisors recognized and honored the author and creator of the special week. Mary Camacho, as head of the Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program, came up with the special week. Camacho is retiring from her position after 37 years. The Board applauded Camacho for her long career, recognized her many successful programs during her tenure of public service. Her success in writing successful grants was also pointed out. Camacho’s retirement begins later this month. Responsible Fatherhood Week purposely coincides with Father’s Day this Sunday. The special week begins Saturday with a special Breakfast at the Eagles Lodge, next to the IVROP offices. The Breakfast will run from 9:00 to 12:00 noon and it will include information promoting skills on how to better interact with kids. Other topics during the special week include domestic violence. Responsible Fatherhood Week will run from June 15th through June 21st.
