(Child Injured)…It was reported last week in Brawley.

The Police Department responded to a 911 call for medical aid in the 600 block of South 5th Street. The reporting party stated a 2 year old was not breathing. Officers arrived on scene and immediately began administering Cardiopulminary Resuscitation. Officers continued their efforts until paramedics from the Brawley Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance service arrived. The child was transported to Pioneers Memorial Hospital and subsequently to a hospital outside the county. Police say a preliminary investigation indicates the child suffered an accidental head injury possibly caused by an air rifle. The investigation is on going.
