It will continue through Friday evening. Increased air pollution makes the situation even more uncomfortable. That has been the situation in some areas of the County. The Air Pollution Control District issued Air Quality Alerts Wednesday in Calexico. The 8-hour average of Ozone reached 151 on the Air Quality Index. That translates to an air quality condition of Unhealthy, especially for children and people with Asthma. The first Alert was issued at 3:00 in the afternoon. A second Alert was issued an hour later. The levels of Ozone lowered overnight, and at last report air quality in Calexico was listed as Good.
