(Protect yourself from heat related illness)…That is the advice of the local Public Health Department.
They say residents should take the appropriate precautions this summer. The Department says 28 Cool Centers are available throughout the Imperial Valley where individuals can cool off during the hottest parts of the day. The Public Health Department will be notifying healthcare professionals, schools, senior centers, nursing homes and businesses on ways to reduce heat related illness. Residents are encouraged to check on neighbors such as the elderly, disabled or young children that might be more vulnerable to heat related illness. The Department says young children are most vulnerable to the heat. Residents should never leave a child alone in a vehicle during the hot days of Imperial County.
