Two separate accidents that occurred at about the same time shut down Highway 86 for several hours.
The first accident was reported at 4:13 p.m. on northbound Highway 86 at Air Park Road. Three big rigs were involved , two of them overturned. Just 6 minutes later a second accident involving big rigs was reported on Highway 86 at Harvard Road. No injuries were reported in either accident. The Highway was closed in both directions until approximately 7:00 p.m. Heavy thunderstorms and accompanying high winds caused several county roads to flood and a travelers advisory was issued for Interstate 8 and the Mt. Springs grade late yesterday.
