(A new El Centro Sector CHP office)…State Budget funds are being allocated.

A ceremony with State Senator Ben Hueso will be held Thursday afternoon. The $40,388,000 will be used for the design-build phase of the El Centro area office Replacement Project. The current 4,575 square foot facility opened in 1966 and, since it’s opening, numerous changes have occurred that have rendered the facility ineffective for operational needs. The new allocation will fund the construction of a 27,481 square foot single story office building that will also include an automotive service area, public parking, and secured parking for patrol vehicles. Additional site improvements include a fuel island, truck/bus citation area, emergency generator, communications tower with radio vault, landscaping and utilities. The ceremony Thursday will be held at the El Centro City Council Chambers on Main Street in El Centro.
