Chief Deputy named President of national organization

(Local Chief Deputy of Corrections chosen as national President of AJA)….County Sheriff Ray Loera made the Announcement this week.

He said Chief Deputy of Corrections Jamie Clayton was named National President of the American Jail Association at its annual meeting in Dallas, Texas in April. AJA is a national non-profit organization that supports the professionals who operate Americas 3,300 jails. It is the only national association that focuses exclusively on issues specific to the operations of local correctional facilities. AJA represents over 4,00 members. Clayton began her career in 1985 with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office. She was hired by the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office as Correctional Captain in 2010. She was promoted to Chief Deputy in 2013.
