The Imperial County Registrar of Voters released an updated tally of results from the June 5th Primary Election.
As of Monday afternoon , there are approximately 1,000 unprocessed ballots. That number includes 975 provisional ballots , 14 conditional voter registration ballots and 9 ballots that require further review due to damage.
With a larger than normal 2-page ballot , the counting process has taken longer than recent past elections.
The Monday afternoon update did not show any changes in leaders in the individual races but some did get a bit closer. In the race for Imperial Irrigation Director Division 3 , incumbent James Hanks lead over Raul Navarro has slipped to just 37 votes.
Voter turnout is approximately 27.5% countywide.
The next update is expected by 5:00 p.m. on Friday , June 15, 2018.
