Segio Romo , a career major league reliever , started the Tampa Ray Rays Sunday game against the California Angels.

Romo , a Brawley native , started Saturday's game in Anaheim and pitched a perfect first inning before being lifted , came back to start Sundays game. Romo walked the leadoff batter Sunday and then struck out Mike Trout and Justin Upton and got Andrelton Simmons to ground out to end the first. Romo started the second inning and walked Zack Cozart and struck out Jefry Marte. At that point he was replaced by Matt Andriese. Romo is one of only five pitchers in the last 40 yeears to start a major league game on consecutive days.
